After calling Senegal home for a year I can tell you with my whole heart that this place will leave a permanent mark on your memory that you will recall with fondness and a smile on your face. Teranga is a local Wolof word that roughly translated means welcoming. The word Teranga embodies the soul of the Senegalese people. So many different dialects, languages, traditions, and cultures, all living in harmony and peace. Choosing respect and acceptance daily. Something I found myself continually being astounded by was their resiliency. Life can be tough in Senegal but these incredible people hustle like no other. They take what they have and make it work with true joy in their hearts. They work hard and they play harder. All in the most fabulous, colorful and vibrant clothes you have ever seen!
